Do You Find Exercising Boring?

Too many people complain that travel, weather for work or leisure, plays havoc with their exercise schedule.

Well it doesn't have to. It may well represent an opportunity for you to get a little more creative with your workouts. Varying. your exercise routines is important no matter what – so use the opportunity to get creative and challenge yourself. No gymnasium or fancy fitness centre required!A theraband, goggles and a skipping rope are lightweight pieces of equipment that take up little luggage space.
Exercise utilising a theraband and or skipping rope can provide great variety to your workouts and can be adapted to suit all fitness levels. Most importantly you can perform a great variety of strength, muscular endurance, core stability, flexibility and aerobic exercise, with these pieces of equipment, anywhere – from hotel rooms, beaches, parks…even airport terminals/lounges. Likewise you can create your own floor and bodyweight workout by incorporating exercises that don't require equipment like push ups, tricep dips, calf raises, lunges, squats and a range of core stability and abdominal exercises. Again these exercises can be performed anywhere. Simple yoga and pilates exercises can also be easily utilised anywhere. Travellers who experience anxiety and or tight muscles in the lower body may find benefits in practicing easy yoga inversion poses as they can help to calm the mind and relieve tired legs. Time and weather permitting, I encourage all my clients who travel regularly to get out and walk / run around once they arrive at their accommodation destination. It's a great way to stretch the legs, see the local neighbourhood and meet the locals. It certainly keeps our PM on the ball. One of my clients who travels overseas for business regularly now always hits the pavements as soon as he checks in at his hotel. In addition to this I have formulated a program that enables him to perform a 10-15 minute full body workout using his own bodyweight, by incorporating normal width grip / wide grip and holding hover push ups, tricep dips, chin ups, walking lunges, wall squats, calf raises, bridge and plank exercises. To add variety and ensure that other muscles of the body are utilised I have designed an alternating 10-15 minute theraband workout that incorporates lateral and side raises, wide pullbacks and holding crunches. This style of workout suits his hectic lifestyle and always ensures that he manages to find time to exercise on a daily basis.
